Where Did February Go?

Oh hay there internets, it's been a long time.

Not that I haven't been around, I have, it's just that I've not been here per se.

So, what have I been up to? What have I been doing that's so important that I ignore the internets.

In all honesty, not a whole lot.
I've been doing a lot of reading and a little writing (fanfiction, unfortunately, if you want to read the tiny bits I've done, I'll post a link here if I get enough people asking). I've not taken a single photo this month, which kind of puts me back a month in my photo project.
I've essentially just pulled back, something I sometimes do but am good at hiding, I occasionally just pull back in to my own head.

Not that I am not predominantly there normally anyway, but in those circumstances, I am not detached. Or, at least, I like to think I'm not detached.

Mostly everyone who knows me, knows that I live predominantly in the left side of my head, this entails certain, err, properties. I'm a 'deep' thinker, I think about whatever I think about to the most basic (or complex, of course) level I can. This helps, since I tend to be extremely single minded on my tasks, so it's useful for when I need to learn, and it's useful for when I need to do something, particularly if that thing is technical, or can be broken down into technical steps.

For the last three weeks or so I've been heavily diverted into thinking about how to go about writing, particularly, creative fiction writing.
I've always had delusions of being able to write, but as mentioned, I've never really had the patience for it.
The main reason why I've never really had the patience (and, admittedly, maturity) for it is because creative writing is essentially antithetical to the way I think. I think in pictures, and I also think with a constant inner dialogue, like most people do, I'd wager.
But virtually all my creative thoughts come in the form of pictoral thinking, and I think of the 'dialogue', if applicable, for the images I conjure. This makes me able to write dialogue fairly easily, as long as I have a good idea of the setting and the characters involved, but bad at most other ways of writing. It's why I can write this journal, since it's essentially an edited stream of conciousness.

Hence, I've been spending the majority of my thinking time working that problem, and since it's not a logical problem but a creative one, it's one that is particularly challenging for me.

This is all compounded by the fact that my current sleep schedule is completely FUBAR. At the moment, I've been staying awake for about 24 hours at a time, and then sleeping between four and seven hours.
Well, it's not really compounded, this is more a symptom, at the moment, I can only really sleep when I am absolutely exhausted, and I'm only staying awake because of my unintentionally self inflicted obsession with working the creative writing problem.

So, hopefully, that'll explain why I've not been around all that much, or 'there' even when I am around.

Playing Catchup

So, apparently, stuff has happened during my 'hiatus', for lack of a better word.

Changes

If you haven't done so already, I encourage you to welcome @Caektiems, @deshrubber and @Oukan to the MN@ team, and to thank `quickdraw and `vastblue for their 'work' on the team.

Another Meme

Ganked from $Stykera and $chix0r and probably numerous others. I present, the contents of my bag.

1. My Nike bag, I've had it for come on to ten years now. It's a laptop bag, basically.
2. Gloves
3. Wooly hat
4. Torch 1
5. Canon A470
6. Passport
7. Torch 2
8. Mini-Tripod
9. Pen Knife
10. Wrist strap, as my left wrist is very prone to injury.

Exciting, eh?

You may also want to check out [link] it's a bit outdated though, but it tends to be what I normally carry when I'm not carrying my bag.

My Website

Just to let you all know, I've updated my website, so it looks like it some design idea went into it, as opposed to before.
As always, it can be...
